I start today by Wishing You A Very Happy & Prosperous New Year .
2018 is here & we can already see some fab Wedding Trends emerging. On the BLOG I will give you an insight into some of these trends “What Is New In The Wedding World For 2018″
Colour:
The Hue to watch is the 2018 colour pantone “Ultra Violet”. A dramatically provocative, striking & regal purple colour ideal for your wedding colour palette.”Ultra Violet is a deep, blue-based purple—darker than lavender with cosmic undertones to evoke originality, ingenuity and visionary thinking that points us toward the future”.
Navy is the new black. As an alternative to formal black, couples are opting for navy blue as the neutral shade in their wedding colour palette. Instead of a classic black and white engraved invitation, they are opting for a deep midnight blue letter pressed invitation and there are lots of navy bridesmaids dresses about!
A Return To More Formal Weddings:
We are seeing a return to the more formal wedding and will be doing a number of formal elegant weddings in 2018. The formal wedding will have classical florals, tuxedos and a hint of sparkle. However formal weddings will be little more relaxed with some whimsical tones and more fun elements in 2018. Prince Harry & Meghan Markle’s wedding is sure to portray this less stuffy, more chilled formal wedding.
Flowers:
Leading on from the colour of the year 2018 will see dark, moody and dramatic flowers being used in wedding styling. They will be part of the wedding floral arrangements, stationery,GOBO on the dance floor and of course the cake. These flowers will give a lush, romantic and dreamy style to your Fall or Winter wedding.
Bouquets:
2018 will see free form bouquets a move away from the more restrained hand tied of the last few years. The blooms will be big & opulent providing a loose and free form bouquet.
Destination Weddings Will Embrace Local Culture:
For many of your guests your destination wedding maybe their first visit to the wedding location. Your Wedding is an ideal opportunity for guests to experience some of the local culture including entertainment & activities. If you choose Ireland for your destination wedding there is a great opportunity to include culture experiences in your wedding celebrations. They include hosting your Wedding in a castle, Irish whiskey tasting, Hand fasting, Irish food, Irish music & dancing.
Translucent Cakes:
The naked cake is being replaced by the translucent cake! Unlike the naked cake they have a thin veil of frosting with a little of the cake showing typically iced in buttercream. They are normally topped with fresh flowers or in-season fruits.
Serve Love Potions! :
A twist on your wedding day cocktail “Love Potions” . Have the mixologist at your venue create a bespoke cocktail in a colour/s from your palette & serve from little potion bottles. They can even be his & hers and some non alcoholic to ensure non drinkers are catered for too!
Statement Back In The Brides Dress :
The statement back is here to stay in 2018! The bridal runways saw designers from Reem Acra to Pronovias to Vera Wang & Monique Lhuillier show stunning statement backs in their wedding dresses. So for that extra dramatic walk down the aisle the gown with a statement back is a must! From back-baring plunges to intricately detailed embellishments the statement back is still one of the hottest wedding trends.
#Brides so much inspiration for you to consider for your 2018 wedding.
I look forward to your queries and of course hearing from any couples hoping to get married in Ireland planning@westcoastweddingsireland.com !
