Today we are delighted to share a piece from special guest blogger, our own fashion queen Rachelle Guiry. Not only is she an elite make-up artist with West Coast Weddings Ireland, she is also a well known face on the racing scene and no stranger to winning ‘Best-Dressed’ events. We asked Rachelle to give our WCWI brides some tips on planning their weddings around the many famous horse racing events that take place of the Wild Atlantic Way and in particular the Galway Races.
Two important factors at this time of year are the weather, firstly Ireland somewhat experiences a mini tropical rainy season in July! Secondly one of the finer pinnacles of this month and year is the Galway Races. The reason why many of the most fashionably dressed head to the West of Ireland in July with The Galway Races and of course The Best Dressed Lady Event at the racecourse. The week long event begins on the Monday and finishes on the Sunday with plenty of goings on and off the racecourse to keep all your wedding guests entertained. Since the historically renowned ladies day is all about the hats then why not “stay a hat above the rest” and start planning your outfit all around your headwear. Invest in a key piece that compliments your own wedding style. Making a bold statement then consider choosing a designer to make a distinctively tailored piece. Ireland boasts a wealth of internationally known successful designers. Just look at the OC923 hat from Philip Tracey for a striking wedding piece worn very flatteringly on the side of the head. This look will suit every face shape.
The very feminine milliner Carol Kennelly has the stunning “Elle” creation on offer amongst many beautiful designs. A dainty piece, very on trend with its soft floral and pearl embellishment. If choosing to get a personally designed piece allow for consultation time in your schedule prior to the wedding day so your hat is ready for collection in plenty of time for the big day.
Choose a dress that will complement your headpiece and flatter your body shape. Want to elongate the figure and silhouette then take a look at the stunning designs from Vera Wang. Opt for something quirky lacey and edgy (perfect for Galway) with this little lacy cocktail “Paulina” Bridal dress. Elegant and chic, great for the bride who wants to keep her style sophisticated and casually mingle with all her guests.
Or for an elegant classic style then look no further than at the designer Caroline Herrara and the stunning dress “Desiree” as seen in the Fall 2015 collection. A beautiful fishtail silhouette is timeless. The little peep through lace and chiffon cap sleeve jacket is so elegant and perfect for the occasional Irish shower.
Irish designer Don O Neill has created a showstopper with the sophisticated “Leah” dress. A transparent lace cop top with a flattering deep V-neck white lining underneath. Complemented with a full tulle skirt with staggered endless layers and a delicate ribbon waistband. A sublime standout dress!
And last but not the very least – Shoes. An “all-important” factor for your very busy day. Consider a mid height heel for comfort throughout the busy day. For the truly dramatic heel wearer then the “Fifi Python Crystal” at Christian Louboutin are a bridal classic. The timeless round toe, slender heel with the trademark red sole, are the ultimate statement accessory. This white python crystal version is a must have for brides. If you need any help Planning Your Wedding During The Galway Races, we have partnered with the best venues along with West Coast of Ireland get in touch with us today at firstname.lastname@example.org.
