Our Dream Winter Wedding At Ashford Castle is certainly going to warm you heart today!
Elaine & Fergus’s dream wedding at Ashford Castle will help you find your wedding inspiration and settle any questions you may have about having a destination wedding in Ireland.
Like something straight from a fairytale, their nearest and dearest were surrounded by luxury and and warmth which reflected all the love this wonderful couple had for each-other.
I don’t know about you but I just love the idea of a winter wedding at a castle in Ireland, especially if it happens to fall around Christmas time. With log fires, mulled wine, cosy atmosphere and sheer beauty. Availing of everything this castle had to offer, a private estate boasting 350 acres, a deep history of hosting celebrities, presidents and royalty and luxury too rich to describe – you will have to visit to experience it.
Being based at Ashford, both bride and groom were able to relax in the wonderful surroundings on the wedding morning before their wedding ceremony at the 800 year old Ballintubber Abbey. Another magnificent structure steeped in history. When planning your wedding in Ireland or should we say your wedding at Ashford Castle, leave enough time for your guests to discover County Mayo on the Wild Atlantic Way. And we haven’t even mentioned that quaint little village of Cong, where Ashford Castle is situated, made famous by the movie “The Quiet Man’ starring John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara.
A crisp winters day, just before Christmas meant that day- light was a priority and this black-tie affair had to start at 2pm. This allowed the gorgeous couple some time to get photographs on the grounds on Ashford after the ceremony.
