How To Stay InSANEly In Love While Planning Your Dream Wedding

Everyone knows, the stress of planning a wedding can sometimes bring out the worst in us, especially when it comes to our relationship with our partner. The good news is, it doesn’t have to, and we’re going to share How To Stay InSANEly In Love While Planning Your Dream Wedding by New York and Milan based Wedding Planner Marina Luri Clark of Marina Luri Events.

Firstly, you’ll want to give yourself enough time to plan, which reduces stress, while enabling you to make decisions at your own pace.

Perhaps the most important decision (there are so many!) will be the budget you set together. Discuss what’s important to both of you for your day. This initial discussion will help guide you as you continue to choose from all the options along the way, and act as a go-to for inspiration.

Once you’ve settled on a budget, you’ll want to get organised and stay focused. Try to keep things simple; don’t get bogged down with the details. There are planning apps that allow you to share information with your future spouse, keeping you both organised and in the loop.

Although, inevitably, some small decisions will be solo endeavours, certainly involve your partner in the things he or she may enjoy, like going to a tasting. Plan a date around these aspects of the planning process you’ll tackle together, and then maybe find a local restaurant, brewery or winery nearby after for a wedding-free date, so you can relax after checking off another item on the “to-do” list.

You’ll want to make decisions together for things like the date, venue, caterer, or whatever else you dictated would be a joint decision. But for the not-so-important things, it’s okay to decide on those alone. Remember to stick to your decision!

Not every conversation needs to be about the wedding from the minute you get engaged until you say “I do.” Go on “planning free” dates with your partner, where the wedding is a topic that is off limits. You’ll both be thankful for the mental break, which can be especially helpful if you’re feeling “stuck” on something in the planning arena.

Keeping your romance alive and well in the the midst of all the wedding arrangements is possible with an eye on the bigger picture and fostering good communication with your partner. In the end, you won’t remember negotiating what your favours would be, but the fact that you made it to the ceremony ready to begin your marriage without ever losing sight of the most essential thing – the decision to marry each other.
