Weddings At Ashford Castle- Get Out On The Water!
In today’s Real Wedding post, we return to Ashford Castle Hotel. We discuss how better to extend your destination wedding than enjoying the pre and post wedding activities here. Why not get out on the water and enjoy a boat trip on Lough Corrib?
Kate and Steve, who we met in last week’s Real Wedding post, decided to do just that. Choosing to explore and take in the beauty of Ireland’s West Coast waters. They took a family trip on the Isle of InisFree vessel.
You can choose from;
Family cruises– A perfect choice for the day before or day after the wedding.
There are 2 cruises to choose from- The History Cruise and The Island and Traditional Music Cruise.
- The History Cruise:
Patrick Luskin, a local historian takes you on a scenic journey through history and time. With 365 islands and the Connemara Mountains in full view, it is a truly breathtaking trip and creates amazing memories for you and your guests. This cruise is available throughout the year.
- The Island and Traditional Music Cruise:
You’ll visit Lisloughery Quay before arriving at your destination, Inchagil Island. The famous island boasts 100 acres of forestry and holds St. Patrick’s 15th Century Monastic Site. Enjoy live music, stories and songs along the way. This trip is available from June 1st through to September 30th.
Private tours– Take a private trip in a hand crafted wooden boat, a romantic experience for the couple to be or newlyweds. You could even take ‘Cranki’, the 40 ft, Italian Built, Luxury Motor-Yacht. Enjoy a high speed cruise on Lough Corrib with up to 8 guests. You can even make use of the high speed WIFI onboard!
Fishing trips– Local marine expert, Frank Costello, treats you to an itinerary suited to your own interests and preferences. With all fishing gear provided, you will be introduced to the fruits of the River Cong- brown trout, salmon and pike. This trip is suited to two or three people and would make for an enjoyable grooms party activity.
Enjoy classic Country Pastimes At Ashford Castle. Contact Thomas, Activities CoOrdinater, to organise entertainment for your family and guests.
Choose from a range of activities- Be relaxed or get active:
- Clay Shooting
- Zip Lining and Tree Climbing
- Horse Riding
Afterwards, have lunch with your guests at Cullen’s at the Cottage. A traditional thatched cottage providing both international and local dishes. Enjoy your meal outside in the manicured gardens and patio with magnificent views of Ashford Castle. This venue would make for a fun and casual Rehearsal Dinner or would be perfect for a meal the day after the Wedding to unwind.
