One For The Bows; The Groom Edition
The suit is the male equivalent of the female LBD. A staple of every man’s wardrobe for the obligatory formal occasion, for men who don’t spend their days in a formal two piece.
Suits, like dresses come in different colours, sizes, designs, lengths etc. The one major difference with the suit, compared to it’s female counterpart, is that most women will get away with wearing a dress that is any colour. Whereas most men will only feel comfortable with a suit that is 1 of 3 colours: Black, Navy (Blue) or Grey.
Now of course there are a certain number of men out there that will take the risk and completely shock his peers by pulling off a deep Maroon or a Powder Blue suit and kudos to those men! However, as a populous we cannot really blame the majority of men for sticking to the ‘Holy Trinity’ of Black, Navy & Grey because fashion history claims them to be the manliest of colours.
The Bow Tie; a small and underrated accessory yet powerful in the definition of how well a man could look on his wedding day. It has the ability to not only make a groom stand out, if chosen properly, the bow tie can compliment any bridal gown.
The bow tie’s very safe cousin, the necktie, is probably the most obvious choice but why not consider trying on a bow tie instead?
The bow tie changes the landscape of groom fashion. A brash and loud necktie has the capability to be just that; loud, brash and can ruin a well structured suit. A loud and brash bow tie, however, worn with a perfectly structured morning suit can transform a generic wedding look into a very strong fashion statement that will be remembered.
So Brides to Be, and indeed more importantly if they are reading this, Grooms to Be, think twice about your neck accessories for your wedding. There are two of you getting married, therefore the two of you should be remembered for your own individual fashion statements.
